Over Ripe Banana Smoothie

What to do with those ripe ripe bananas? My go to answer is banana bread.  But the house is too hot to turn on the oven.  So I asked my Facebook mom’s group what I should do with them.  When someone suggested smoothie I did a face palm.  Duh lady.  Smoothie.

Since I had no yogurt (my go to smoothie ingredient) I went with a little something out of my comfort zone.

2 ripe bananas

1-3 tbs peanut butter (more, to taste)

1.5 or to taste tbs honey

1/2 cup or so milk (I had whole milk on hand and used that, because this was supposed to be Moppet’s)

Ice

Blend.

I don’t usually do peanut butter, but this was just so good.  I made it for my 1 year old, but ended up eating most of it.  I understand that frozen bananas work even better for this, so the two over ripe bananas that I have left are waiting in the freezer.

The nice thing about smoothies is that it is all to taste.  You really don’t need to measure- just use what you have.  If you really love peanut butter, add more.  If you are making this for an under 1, then skip the honey.

I need to get popsicle makers so I can freeze the next batch and try it as a popsicle!
